Keeping up with the competition Samsung has announced a new version of the Galaxy S3 which was an extremely popular phone and sold near to 20 million units in the first 100 days since release (29th May 2012) Samsung have confirmed that they are releasing a smaller version of the Galaxy S3, which JK Shin (Samsung’s mobile chief) hinted at being called the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

There has been some serious information leaked on the internet with regards to the specifications of the phone, including a 5 Megapixel rear camera, and 16GB of flash memory as well as room for a 32GB MicroSD card. It has also been widely rumoured that the phone will come with the new version of android (4.1) known as Jelly-bean, which I personally cannot wait to try out.

Some consider the Galaxy S3 to be the “Flagship” of Samsung, but will the mini take its place? Only time will tell, but there are already some drawbacks to be thought about; with a display of only 800×480, this is in contrast with the 720p on offer from the original S3. The “Mini” actually has an  0.8 inch smaller screen than the previous S3 and this loss of width comes at a price with the “Mini” being a millimetre thicker than the S3.

So the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini is all lined up to be an amazing phone, hopefully taking over from where its predecessor left off.
