MSI GX60 Quad-Core A10 7970M Series 1080P Gaming Laptop Overview
AMD has not been known as the laptop leader as far as CPU sales are concerned, but they are trying to change that in a big way. The new Trinity APU is hopefully something that will breath new life to AMD’s portable business and garnish them some attention at the sales counter. The new GX60 comes equipped with a A10 ‘’Trinity’’ 4600M processor combined with a RADEON HD 7970M GPU. The new machines come with a 15.6-inch 1920X1080p backlit LED display can be configured with 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory a DVD or Blu-Ray player and the most exciting option is the ability to RAID a pair of mSATA SSDs in RAID 0 with a hard drive. MSI has said that this new technology allows transfer rates of up to 1,000MB/s.
Portability is becoming the biggest key word in the entire industry whether it is for phone, tablets or laptops as this is the largest growing user group. With that said innovation has become a mainstay that is sometimes hard to reach in a world full of products. MSI has been in the PC game for a very long time and has a vast reach into the industry as they manufacture just about everything PC and its no surprise to see them on the innovation trail. Prices have yet to be officially announced. One other feature that should be mentioned here is the built in SteelSeries backlit keyboard that should be better than any average laptop keyboard. This looks to be a very interesting product ands we will have to see if AMD fans embrace or reject this idea at the sales counter.
