99% of Android Devices Are Open to Attack
A warning to Android users! Some of your information can be stolen due to a flaw in the Android mobile OS.
Bluebox, a mobile security company has claimed to have found a flaw in Androids system to leave any device vulnerable to attacks.
Bluebox demonstrated a method which this is possible. Bluebox explained that modifying an apps code without affecting the cryptographic signature can lead to people applying malicious code which can go on completely unnoticed. These can further lead in to data theft or creating botnets in the system.
Of course, the Bluebox company were not dumb enough to go into specifics about the process, but they have said that this problem has been around since Android 1.6 which existed in 2009. The only way this flaw can possibly be taken advantage of is when a “master key” is applied which tricks Android into thinking the application is unharmed.
So far, it has been reported that the only phone patched by Google for this problem is Samsungs Galaxy S4 while others are left hanging. Later, Bluebox proved the systems vulnerability by posting a screenshot from an HTC device that had system info changed to say “Bluebox” in the Baseband Versions string. What do you guys think about this?
