Retail giant, Best Buy, is ramping up efforts to push the Nexus 7. Clearly seen as an opportunity to try and beat Google to the punch with in-store early sale offering, well ahead of its actual launch date. The 16GB model will sell for $229.99 and the 32GB one lists for $269.99.

If you don’t fancy walking into a traditional brick and mortar store, we’ve also just learned that Amazon got the new Nexus 7 in stock as well, with next-day Saturday shipping available.

There’s little to wonder why so many gadget-heads are excited about this tablet when you check out its specs. A 1920×1200 display means true 1080p video playback that’s augmented by a superfine 323ppi pixel density – we expect it to have best in class picture quality.

Qualcomm’s formidible Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 CPU is backed up by 2GB of RAM, and an Adreno 320 GPU.

Instagram fans might appreciate its built-in 5 megapixel camera – just think, now you can make pictures look as if they were snapped 30 years ago at an even higher resolution!

As far as the operating system goes, industry insiders were speculating Android 4.3 and we can confirm that it will be 4.3, which means it keeps the Jelly Bean design. We do expect to see them release Key Lime Pie later on which means there should be a good deal of more features to be seen down the road. We’ve also heard Walmart is selling the Nexus 7 early, so definitely let us know if you have any luck picking one up ahead of the release date.
