For those who’ve been longing to edit Microsoft Office docs on your iOS or Android device, you might be excited to hear that Microsoft is shifting the program to a mobile based approach.

Despite of Microsofts subscription based service release of Office 365, they expect this mobile version a full-fledged original MS Office release. Leaks from ZDNET show a Microsoft Office roadmap that is expected to release sometime in October 2014, for Android and iOS.

Leaks also show Blue updates for OneNote, Powerpoint, Excel and Word to appear on Windows 8 by this October. Windows phone Office update comes at a later time at around April 2014. And without skipping any stones, Mac will also get a new version of Office sometime in April as well along side Outlook joining the Windows RT family. It’s a bit of a bummer that Microsoft is taking this long to push out the suite as plenty of iOS and Android users have been patiently waiting for the release. Are you excited about the somewhat decent news? or is Microsoft taking too long?
