All I want is to access youtube from my phone through an app and not from the browser cause the browser’s video player of WP doesn’t allow a good control over the video. And the mobile version of the website isn’t really good I think, I don’t like it, not handy…
I mean, the app microsoft had done was great, well working and so on, why not just adding tge adds and removing the download feature ?? Really both companies have done bad job considering the end user….
There is an app on android and even IOS, so why not WP ?? WTF Google ?! It’s the way you should take (guys of google^^) to be hated by people… I don’t like companies that only want to make money and that don’t care about the end user…

Then google blocked it. They later came out with another API that google allowed… then google blocked it again. This is all google. Microsoft really isn’t doing anything wrong.

One by one, people will be using only Microsoft services as the market share for Windows Phone increases. Google’s stubbornness is going to hurt them in the long run.

Not just Microsoft, but Windows Phone users have been personally trying to get Google to make a Youtube app for WP for 3 years now. Their excuse is that there is not enough marketshare. Ok, fine. But as marketshare has raised it to the third OS for phones, we see the other OS options below WP have apps for quite a few of Google’s service. When Microsoft finally released the app after Google and Microsoft had agreed to work together on the app(supposedly), it had what they requested primarily which was ads for the videos and no downloading. Shortly after, it stops working. Sounds like that was planned to me. We have 1 official app from Google themselves. A search app which hasn’t been updated since March 2012. But point is, Google has a history of doing this to other companies. They did the same thing with youtube to Roku for their streaming box. Claiming it doesn’t have enough users to be worth it. It currently holds the market in the U.S. ahead of Apple TV. Yet all the rest of the streaming boxes and even TVs and blu-ray players have a youtube app and still none for Roku which has hurt Roku’s sales as there are those who would not get it just because it couldn’t stream officially from youtube. Someone made a youtube app for Roku (private channel) and google forced it to be shut down. Microsoft are no saints by any means and have done tons of their fair share of ruthless things to others (Apple as well). But at least they release apps for their services on other platforms whether it be good or bad (including android). All it does is pisses off the users more than anything.

Google is great don’t get me wrong. But windows is about to take over the mobile market too. So in my opinion I am for the underdog I just think they should follow the Ms route and offer more and make it more cheaper for developers to corner the market on all platforms thats how you make a name for yourself. They just have to be as versatile as their competitors.MS likes to innovate off of other companies ideas such as apple and google. Why can’t they do the same? MS is still a monopoly, I think they should totally revamp Android maybe integrate more of a professional touch that would rival windows for another 3 or 4 years.

But there is no way Google is going to be able to pull off a new OS for PC’s, besides, this is about phones, not computers.

Windows took years to become the main OS in the world, Mac OSX and Linux (all flavors) Simply dont add up to the amount of Windows machines on the planet. simply put, its the Windows OS that paved the way for modern computing as we know it. Hardware, and software companies (unles explicitly endorsed and signed over to Apple) produce code and hardware for Windows based systems, before any other platform. There is almost no way Google can make an OS to match it, even with their almost unlimited resources.

Thats why Google sticks to Mobile devices. They are a platform they can take over, as Windows, and IOS just dont give us what we want.

Maybe google should just come out with there own OS like windows 7 , that would rival it, just to slap them back. These wars create better products at the end of the day. I would like more option than just windows
