Most people in the tech world had at least heard rumors about Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 8.0 as it has been hailed as the worst kept secret in tech history, but now the rumors will be put to rest as the real McCoy product has been officially announced putting a silence to the rumors and brings fact to the table. The mobile World Trade Show is held this week and at the show the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will be making it worldwide debut. Although many will probably not use this feature, the new 8.0 will also double as a phone, albeit one that is not all that ergonomic for holding up to your ear as that would not only look silly, but not be very comfortable either trying to balance it in one hand.

What we know now is that the 8.0 will weigh in at a mere 338 grams, sport a 1.6GHz Quad Core Exynos processor, 2GB of memory, a long lasting 4,600 mAh battery, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and an 8-Inch HD 189 pixel per inch screen that when seen compared to Retina Display technology is not all that much to brag about, but will serve for its proposes well enough. Performance is said to be impressive for this type of mobile device, but the rear camera like the phone is almost a moot point as it like the phone are both not ergonomic as a feature. Another thing Samsung commented on was that the new 8.0 was based off the standard Moleskin notebook design and by making such a statement they may be yet setting themselves up for more lawsuits down the road.

One of the cool features though are the “Premium Suite” of apps that are really designed to make you make use of the S-Pen in very interesting ways. The Wacom tablet has a lot of success with their tablets and building upon that success, the Note series has a unique edge to their technology arsenal. The new Note 8.0 offers 3rd party developers to utilize the Note’s hover-gestures so they can build new features into their software. To prove their concept, the 8.0 will launch with a new version of Flipboard that now features an expanding tile option that is initiated whenever the S-pen hovers over a content tile. Another great feature on the 8.0 is an enhanced readers mode that automatically adjusts screen settings to optimize the Ebooks reading experience, a new remote control program that is designed to replace your universal TV remote and a multi-window option that supposedly looks really awesome on the 8-inch device. There will be 2 versions shipping this year, the first the 3G and then a follow up with a WiFi version later in the year. This could be a big hit or a big flop depending on how the general public reacts to the device, but what do you think is the new Galaxy Note 8.0 going to be a Hit or Miss.  Your thoughts matter and I want to hear them so lets hear what you have to say. Thanks for reading.
