The time is drawing near for the new Samsung Galaxy S4 release and now that the clock is ticking down to the final moment, we are seeing leaks begin to appear. In the weeks proceeding last years S3 release, we saw the same type of things began to surface with some being highly accurate and others completely the opposite direction being wrong in every sense.  This time we see a leak from GSM Israel showing off a set of a screen shots that may have some actual validity to them according to inside sources.

The shots are supposedly from an actual US model Galaxy and from the shots it looks to be an AT&T version by way of the 4G logo on the display. The shots also show a slightly updated version of the TouchWiz UI albeit with brighter UI elements and tweaked icons a redesigned settings menu that also sports a transparent notifications bar on the same screen. There is a setting called Smart Scroll that uses an all new “Eye-Scrolling Feature’’ that is said to incredibly allow you to use your eyes to scroll through pages and websites. If this really pans out to work, this will be great for handicapped individuals and for hands free operations.

We can also see from another device information app that the Galaxy S4 is revealed to have a 1.8GHz Quad-Core processor, a 5-inch 1920X1080 screen at 441ppi, a 13mp rear camera, 2GB of memory and comes running the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system. From seeing this and just unboxing the Sony Xperia Z and checking out the HTC One I have to say that the phones all sound very similar as far as the features go with Sony trying to implement their own software to try and shake things up. I hope that the Samsung screen is done a bit better than the Sony as that screen has a few things that distract from it being 100% cool as it has a weird contrast and when viewed from any other angle other than head on it is not very clear to view.

At the end of the day, no one can fully guarantee that these screenshots are kosher as Samsung has been known to play their own pranks and rumors by releasing “Dummy” phones and products to keep their real products under a tight umbrella. With that said, from what we have read this source is rated above average and their may be a much better chance that these are actual screenshots and not just some red herrings to get everyone off the scent of the actual S4.

Next Thursday in New York is the big event and we luckily have a friend attending the event for us so we can have some live coverage for you to check out as its happening. I still love my Note 2, but their 720p screens have me wondering if I should switch over to the S4 to get the better 1080p screen that come with it. I guess I will have to wait and see if the screen looks better than the Sony Xperia Z, if not I am sticking to my Note 2.  Are you planning on getting a Galaxy S4 when it becomes available? Let me hear what you folks have to say in the comments below.

I really want better build quality and battery life the plastic just isn’t cutting it. My Samsung Galaxy s2 is beat to hell from dropping it and the plastic not protecting it.
