A new see through phone has been in development by Taiwanese company Polytron that makes a new twist in a market that is over saturated with many of the same thing type devices, many that are all covered with the latest but much the same covers. With the new see through phone you would not need a phone cover, as its see through nature is cool enough in itself to leave as is.

This week Polytron unveiled a prototype of previous said handset, which currently has not been named, but is confirmed to made of glass and only the only visible things you can see are the camera, the board and the memory card. Polytron has been developing glass technology for quite some time and have invented their patented “Polytron Privacy Glass”. This technology features liquid crystal molecules randomly orientated inside the glass line up when an electrical charge is applied. So while the glass is opaque when there is no charge being applied, turn it on and the glass will become transparent.

You could also use this technology in a smartphone to cover up non-transparent parts like the SIM card.  The new device would feature a touch screen interface located in the center of the phone giving what hopefully will only be a limited time situation very basic functionality as currently there is no OS support for it. Although this might seem like a major hurdle in the road Polytron nonetheless is planning on moving forward and having this device out by the end of the year. What do you folks think about this one a go or no-go? Any idea and comments are always welcomed and encouraged, thank you for taking the time to read through.
