In the last few years we have seen tablets and mobile devices just wash away the PC landscape as on the go is really in the go and moving technology. So far form all the various products we have seen be it Apple’s iPad, Google’s Nexus or Amazons Kindle all have been geared for really reading and watching movies and gaming being a serious secondary consideration on them all. One thing for sure though, is that Apple had to eat their own fruit when they claimed that the 7-inch market was a waste of time as that has been the most widely received and purchased size thus far. No offense to the deceased but you had that one wrong Steve as the iPad mini now states clearly and the players on the field are growing in numbers daily.

Enter WikiPad Inc a company with a new twist on the same 7-inch concept and one that brings gaming to the forefront of its features. There is also a 10-inch model in the works, but for now only the 7-inch version is making it to Prime Time. The Wikipad is built on top of an Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC foundation and is essentially a smaller (and less expensive) version of its 10-inch sibling, though it’s geared for gaming. The new 7-inch however will feature an IPS display, 16GB of internal storage (Expandable Via a microSD card slot) and the big thing the console controller like layout that has physical buttons, a D-pad and an Analog stick. It will also tout Android 4.1 Jelly Bean so it will be ready for the latest apps and games for the tech-nerd in us all.

The new WikiPad is going to be priced at $249.99 and will be the first tablet of its kind to hits the shelves. From the picture you can see that it has the looks of both a control pad and a tablet combined and my main question is on the ergonomics of using it. Will it be comfortable in your hand whilst playing games or will you always feel like you may drop the pad at any second if you are not too careful. One last thing to mention as well Folks, the new WikiPad tablet is also one of the only tablets currently being sold that is certified for Sony PlayStation Mobile so if you are fan of the PS3 and looking forward to the new PS4 coming later this year this may just be the perfect tablet for you. I think that if the controls are easy to use and are comfortable that this company will probably make some very solid sales and fans. What do you think, does this new WikiPad sound like something you would be interested in? Let me hear your opinions, as your thoughts matter here on Tech Of Tomorrow. Thanks for reading.
