Just when you thought that Google couldn’t get any crazier! At this years SXSW music, film and trade festival, Google chose to debut one of their development projects they’re calling the “talking shoe.” The talking shoe is pretty much a shoe with a computer inside that can track and give commentary on all your physical activity such as jumping, running, and whether you’re standing or sitting.

The commentary from the shoes seem to have a witty, sarcastic yet harsh personality to them but at the same time is capable of maintaining a steady flow of british accent-ness. The shoes come with three sensors – a pressure sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope; and can connect to bluetooth or a computer. You can also wirelessly connect your brand new Google shoes to an app on your phone to share  with all your friends of what silly things the british shoe said throughout the day.

If you’re super anxious on getting your feet in one of these bad boys then you’ll be disappointed to hear that these Google shoes aren’t ever going to market. These shoes are merely apart of Googles new initiative called “Art, Copy & Code” designed to push advertising innovation. This project will allow a select group of creative inventors to team with Google to produce a new avant-garde approach to the medium of advertising. Googles statement regarding the shoes and its purpose for existence is as follows; “ Our goal is really to figure out how you marry innovations in technology with marketing and advertising.”
