it depends all on the games you will play….some graphics in games may be badder and designed for consoles. then better graphics are achievable for $500 pc and a different game maybe meant to be played on a $2000 gaming rig. if you want higher fps then a better pc is the answer, other wise it is useless to buy a gaming rig.

i got a awesome phenom ii 6 core cpu, 8 gb ram at 1600mhz, 1tb hdd , 1 rad 7770 ……..in the furture i could get more 7770s
it was for $550(built it a couple of months ago)

the xbox right now has a gpu running at 500mhz and it is overclocked from about i think 150mhz. it has around 500mb of ram, 3 core cpu @3.2 overclocked….from about 1 ghz , it also has less than 1 mb of cache…..

i dont think the xbox 720 will have these features….and if it does it will be priced at 600-1000 dollars or it will come out in 10 years…….dollars performance is 10 years ahead in pc gaming.

what you guys don’t understand, they are trying to tel you that you don’t need high clock speed to play games, PC games is heavily coded than console games building a gaming rig for over $1000 just don’t make sense.

highly unlikely, its well known in the computer hardware world that gaming cpu’s run better with higher clock speeds and a more efficient architecture than with more cores, hence why AMD’s 8 core processors cant beat intel’s 4 core processors.
