Some folks really like and covet both motherboards and video cards that can be liquid cooled, especially right out of the box. ASUS for quite sometime now has been implementing the option for using liquid cooled systems, but now they are really dedicating efforts to see those products make their mark as seen by Yesterdays ASUS release announcement at Computex in Taipei Taiwan where they announced two new R.O.G products meant for the liquid cooled environment.

ASUS unveiled their all new Hybrid-Liquid cooled motherboard the Maximus VI Formula and the aptly named Poseidon video card to an eager public. R.O.G products have always been for the gamer and the Formula series has great features such as advanced audio and excellent software to keep track of how your system is running as well as how to overclock it in both the BIOS and Windows environment via AI Suite 3.

Fans of the R.O.G series are in for a treat this time around as ASUS offers up a lot of options for cooling via their CrossChill design that allows either air or liquid cooling. On the Maximus Formula VI board there is a top mounted heat sink that has two G ¼ sockets that support a standard liquid cooling loop. There are claims being made by ASUS that the board can achieve much lower temperatures of up to 23 Degrees Celsius lower than when cooled by air alone.

The new motherboard will also sport new features like Digi+III VRMs with 60A Blackwing Chokes, High Efficiency NexFET MOSFETs and 10K metallic capacitors that can handle much higher loads and ensure more stable overclocking according to ASUS. For overclockers this board is just looking and sounding awesome and we will definitely try and get our hands on one to test in house for you good folks.

The Poseidon matches up with the R.O.G style and features ASUS’s new DirectCU H20 design that like the Formula VI can also be used in either an air cooled or liquid cooled system without too much modification at all. Currently ASUS has not confirmed which exact model of the NVIDIA 700 series model it will be, only that it most certainly will be one of the 700 series line cards. ASUS also claims that using the liquid cooled option of the Poseidon offers 31C cooler running speeds than those of using the air only solution. This is all great news for ASUS fans and for those who love the R.O.G theme and want to liquid cool it all as these new products make it easier than ever to implement a liquid cooled system.
