It uses a single GPU. The GPU is GK110. The 690 uses two lower clocked 680s in SLI. The 680 GPU is GK104. The 690 is doing true SLI. It’s just the GPUs are on the same PCB using an SLI bridge that’s embedded into the PCB.

I say, who gives a crap. IF YOU”RE BUYING A 1000 DOLLAR GPU you obviously are looking for performance and you can afford a slightly larger power bill. Also, yah, the 690 will give you better performance for a lot of titles optimized for dual GPUs. Titan is pretty much a “here is what we can do with a single GPU” card, rather than “This is the card every gamer needs”

I don’t care if they’re a bit more expensive, they are totally worth it. It takes these companies to advance our technology, since even though modders at home in their basements could probably do this stuff with home made cases or modded ones, it takes these companies to push these amazing features and designs to the market. That’s one of the coolest cases I’ve ever seen. A bit overdone? Yes. Do I care? No way, shit’s awesome.

Honestly, I think 4 K is a waste of money. Just sit a normal distance from your monitor, and 1080p is already pretty much the maximum amount of pixels your eye will make out. It’s much better to invest in a nice GPU and good 20-27 inch 1080p monitor with amazing contrast and colour technology, rather than wasting so much on 4K. Sure, 4K will be standard someday. That’s why I plan to pick one up, for sub 300 dollars.

It took a while for them to release a GPU that can run the original Crysis at 60fps on 1440×900.
