Recently we have seen our workload increase by quite a bit and with that additional work we found ourselves needing not one, but multiple test stations to accomplish our goals. With that in mine we really needed something that was very flexible and could accommodate any number of motherboard regardless of their size as well as a nice liquid cooling system so that it was not only functional, but also just cool looking as well. We have tried many various products in the past to accomplish this same goal only to be let down in the long run due to larger sized motherboards just being too big for the test station itself. Not a problem for the easy V3 at all.

About a month back I got turned on to DimasTech and started checking out their different solutions for test beds and I really liked the variation between the units, as they all are just a bit different then each other. The DimasTech Easy V3 is for our needs the perfect solution as we test video cards and motherboards on a daily basis and the size and flexibility make this pristine property here in the lab. So my experience thus far has been like this: I received the unit on a Friday all completely sealed in its box and with no damage by those pesky agents of UPS who for once did not destroy my package prior to delivery :) . The box contained all the necessary additional hardware needed to complete the setup of the Easy V3 so after a few minutes of looking at the manual we began assembly.

Assembly took us about 20 minutes in time and was not a hard task to undertake as nothing is rocket science and its all about a few graphs and a few screws and trust me the screws were much more fun than the graphs :) . The bottom line is that like the name implies the Easy V3 is very easy to assemble and get ready for you to throw your parts on and get testing. The Easy V3 is also very well made and should last for years of service before breaking down even with people who are rough on things.

There are controls located in the front of the test station and the cables for connecting them to your motherboard all come with the Easy V3 and are simple to figure out. Using these controls to start and restart the test is for some boards a moot thing, but for some of the lower end motherboards it’s a must have for ergonomics sake. We wanted a test station that could easily use a liquid cooled cooling system and not feel all cramped with the real estate on the test bed and with the V3 that became a reality.

Overall I can find nothing to complain about regarding setup of the DimasTech V3 as it offered little resistance to the end user trying to get the thing put together and to may people that is a very important factor. Since we already have an existing i7 Haswell platform test system at our other location that is used for video card testing we wanted a test system that matched that one as closely as possible so that scores could be compared and so that we can actually do a shootout between the various aftermarket cooling solutions you good folks have been asking for. We used the ASUS Z87 R.O.G Hero on TS1 and on TS2 we used the ASUS Z87 Deluxe, which performance wise is on par with the Hero with BIOS setting in a matched state as far as memory and CPU speed are concerned. On TS1 we used Patriot Viper Extreme 32GB of 1866MHz 4X8GB sticks and on Ts2 we used Patriot Viper Extreme (Black) 32GB of 2133MHz set at 1866Mhz to match other system.

For our BOOT drive on TS2 we used the latest Corsair Neutron 240GB SATA 6 and on TS1 we used the Sandisc 240GB SATA 6 SSD. The main storage drive on both test stations is the Western Digital 2TB Black drive one of the most commonly used hard drives on the market today.

Both systems also incorporate the Intel i7-4770K CPU, but my new DimasTech Easy V3 uses a liquid cooling system in lieu of the air-cooling on TS1, which just makes it a tad bit nicer overall. We used almost all Swiftech parts in the cooling system for TS2 including their latest waterblock, radiator, tubing and fitting and only the reservoir was made by a different company, that company being Monsoon.

In written review you can only portray so much as words are descriptive, but nothing like seeing the real thing so we made a video showing you good folks how cool and ergonomic the new Dimastech Easy V3 is. I must say that I feel that this is a great product for those folks looking for an open-air test bench that has ample room for any motherboard and makes testing a much more ergonomic experience than trying to work within the confines of any case or enclosure on the market. The DimasTech Easy V3 is a solid Editors Choice here on Tech Of Tomorrow and I am sure you will be seeing as lot more of it in the days to come. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
