When it come to playing war games, the Battlefield series has really gotten a foothold on the hearts of many a gamer, myself and son included. My and my kid have spent more social time together playing Battlefield 3 than anything else in recent history, which although may seem a bit weird for parenting but it puts us on the same team with common goals and actually is a great bonding tool. Some folks think that violence in games leads to real life violence, but I feel that is a crock of crap as only those with a twisted view on reality would ever think that taking the game to the street is a sane idea. Violence in the virtual zone is a great way to blow off steam and riddle other players by way of taunts and smart aleck talk all in the name of fun. It’s funny when people get mad when its really all just online heckling like the trolls who stalk YouTube videos getting a laugh at those who get butt hurt and take things seriously.

I know that most of these new games involve violence, but it’s up to the parents and the teachers to educate our next round of youth in the ways of reality versus virtual and I think most kids know that it’s not real nor should ever be recreated in real life. EA has been making war simulations for quite a long time in one fashion or another and most times with huge success. With Battlefield 3 on its umpteenth expansion, although still doing fairly well is losing ground to all the new games available to the populace and EA needs a refresh. March 26, a day slowly creeping upon us is supposed to be the big day that Electronic Arts opens up Pandora’s box, but they have been letting small leaks escape their camp hinting that indeed Battlefield 4 is coming and its coming soon. This is one of those games that when the BETA version becomes available I want in.

So far all we have seen are some images that have been leaked that state the obvious that Battlefield 4 is in the works and at first glance you can see that the promo shot shows some futuristic looking hardware and a fairly conventional looking soldier. I was hoping for a much more futuristic playing environment like a supped up version of Battlefield 2142, but good this time around. All the colors are the same though making an affirmation to the game being the successor of BF3 and not some new fangled in the far future fiasco. DICE has also released a few seconds of a gem trailer to wet your appetite that is scheduled to go live coincidentally with next weeks unveiling of the game. Its is rumored that BF3 Premium members will get a chance to view the trailer before the unveiling to the world and as one I hope its true as that will be really cool. BETA testing for BF4 will begin this fall and although not directly stated there will be a PC version available. I would seriously hope that there is a PC version as this to me is a keyboard mouse game, not a game-pad controlled one. So what say ye oh brethren of the Battlefield are you looking forward to BF4 and all the online carnage you can cause? Let me know what your favorite things about BF3 and what you would most like to see in the new refresh? Thanks for reading and remember your thoughts and opinions matter here on Tech Of Tomorrow.
