Hello Techfans! A month ago we posted a review of the Hermes Gaming Keyboard from Gamdias, a company that is still relatively new in the peripherals market, who places a great deal of emphasis on their products being designed specifically for the eSports crowd, and customers looking for high performance gaming devices. Well today we’re taking a look at another peripheral from them, this time the Zeus Esport edition Laser Gaming Mouse.

While the Hermes Keyboard was fairly simplistic aesthetically with some hard corners and it’s dark black and red theme, the Zeus Mouse on the other hand is extremely flashy in form. It maintains the same black and red theme, featuring a black body with the Gamdias symbol in an opaque yellow, and red LEDs on the bottom that can either be subdued, or blaring light across your desktop.

At a first glance the mouse can be a bit much to take in, but it’s design choice begins to make a lot of sense once you start fiddling with some of it’s customization options, including three different side panels that can be adjusted to fit just right for your hand. The Mouse also features customizable weight options, with up to five 4.5g mini weights loaded into the lower backside of it, which you can add or remove to your comfort level.

Along with the usual left and right clicks with a clickable scroll wheel, the mouse has 3 programmable macro buttons lining the top, 4 on its side lined right above the thumb rest, and a single macro button next to the left click for easy index finger use, initially programmed for on the fly profile changing. Like the Hermes Keyboard, Zeus makes use of Gamdias’s all in one peripheral management software HERA, which as I said before isn’t the prettiest interface, though the Zeus’s options are a lot cleaner than the Hermes’.

The Zeus can support up to 5 different profiles, which you can assign different color codes to the scroll wheel so you know which one is active when. The light by the left click button can also be assigned different colors to help keep you aware of which DPI settings you’re currently using, with preset options ranging for slower speeds like 400 and 800, to higher speeds like 1600 and 3200, and for those of you that want absolutely ludicrous speed in your mouse movements, 8200.

You do have the option to specify your own DPI anywhere in the range of 300 to 8200, and even have the ability to make the X and Y axis read at different speeds. Along with Macros and DPI controls, HERA also allows users to adjust the mouses polling rate going all the way up to 1000 Hz allowing for 1 ms refresh rates, vertical scrolling speeds, double click speeds, straight path correction and lift off settings.

Basically the Gamdias Zeus Esport Edition Laser Gaming Mouse is an indulgence in just about every extra feature you could need in a mouse. Having all of these features at once doesn’t come cheap, with stores linked from Gamdias’s home website coming in at a price tag of $109.99, and the standard edition at $99.99. This mouse is not meant for those looking to just do casual gaming, but if you’re looking for something that offers every little thing you need to boost your performance for serious competitive play, and are willing to pay the price for the extravagance, then the Zeus Laser Gaming Mouse is worth the purchase.
