For those folks that are ever eager for Intel’s next generation of enthusiast CPUs, it seems that pricing for their upcoming “Ivy Bridge-E CPUs” have been leaked. It seems that Intel also wants to keep pricing between the Core i7-4770K Haswell platform, which is geared for the mainstream and the “Ivy Bridge-E” HEDT (High-End Desk Top) platform a relatively small divide.

With Haswell combos featuring the i7-4770K and a solid motherboard going for as low $450.00, Intel wants to make the jump to the HEDT platform an affordable and attainable goal for many more enthusiasts than previously possible. With better pricing Intel is hoping many users will have no problem dropping a few more dollars in order to move to the higher end HEDT platform.

The new entry level Core i7-4820 is rumored to be hitting the market at around US pricing $310.00, which is actually $40.00 cheaper than an i7-4770K. The 4820K will be a quad-core chip featuring 3.7GHZ clocks and a 3.9GHz Turbo Boost, 10MB of L3 Cache, 48 PCI-Express Gen 3.0 lanes as well as a quad channel memory controller. The i7-4770K on the other hand has, 3.60 GHz clocks, 3.90 GHz Turbo Boost, 8 MB L3 cache, 24 PCI-Express gen 3.0 lanes, and a dual-channel memory controller. To its credit, the i7-4770K features higher IPC thanks to its more advanced micro-architecture. There will be three initial models of the new Ivy-Bridge-E CPUs and next is the cheaper of the two six-core options the i7-4930 that will feature clock speeds of 3.40 GHz, with 3.90 GHz maximum Turbo Boost, and 12 MB of L3 cache and be priced at approximately $US 555.00.

One thing worth mentioning is that the Core i7-4930K will be priced $50.00 cheaper than the previous generation 3930K. Intel’s HEDT platform is where the hard-core gamers and die hard enthusiasts users want to put their money as the platform just has that little bit of extra punch we all so desire in our PC. The pricing is nothing shocking as pricing for Intel’s highest end CPUs have been in this same price range for decades and actually shows Intel not playing the inflation game, just sticking to what they are used to and the market can bear. With this launch we will indubitably see many motherboards, memory and other peripherals to match the new platform, thus breathing new life into the PC market and giving overclockers and the like more toys to play with ☺. This pricing is not officially agreeable by Intel as this was a leaked price, but you can bet they will be pretty damn close. Intel’s Core i7 “Ivy Bridge-E” HEDT processors will launch some time between September 4th and 10th according to rumor control central.
