AMD’s been releasing a ton of driver updates these past couple weeks thanks to a combination of releasing their newest line of cards, as well as the release of some of the biggest PC games of the holiday, Batman Arkham Origins and Battlefield 4.

Well if you’re an AMD card owner and are trying to play BF4 on Windows 8, todays latest driver Catalyst 13.11 beta 8 is a must have, as it has fixed a number of stability issues for those experiencing crashing. Windows 7 users can wait for the next one if you don’t want to take that time to download and install, as this driver appears to do little different for you, and it’s main goal is to fix the problems experienced by Windows 8.

Previous beta driver updates 6 and 7 saw improvements in performance across a number of games in crossfire configuration, including up to a 20% boost in battlefield 4, and a 35% boost in Batman. You can check out more information and links for download on the release notes for the drivers here.

AMD drivers 13.11 beta 8 are still causing memory leak issues. it fixes the Red screen of death only. For people continuing to have this issue, go to origin, set bf4 launch options to x86, go to bf4 game folder, and run bf4x86.exe on compatibility mode for windows 7. That’s the most stable setup I personally adjusted to for the meanwhile.

Running 1x4GB DDR3 here, Win 8 Pro 64bits, Radeon 5770, 13.11 beta8 drivers. Tell me more about the “memory leak” problems.

4GB is not enough ram for BF4. Even with video driver fixes.

I recently got the Red screen of death, was it because I push my card’s overclock to far?
