ASUS Releases “Faster Than Titan” ROG Mars 760 Video Card
For those wanting an ultra-fast video card and just so happen...
Thin, light and powerful is what the public now demands in a gaming laptop and not many companies can actually lay claim to having one that stands up to the challenge.
Asus makes a bunch of gaming laptops as does Razer, and of course others, but now MSI wants to up the ante and play with the big boys with their newly launched GS70, a unit that comes fully fleshed out to be a solid, yet portable gaming solution.
The new 17.3 Inch achievement seems to be geared directly to compete with the “Razer Blade Pro” that unites a large screen and a very lightweight chassis. Weighing in at a mere 5.7 pounds, it makes the “Razer Blade Pro” weighing in at 6.6 pounds look like chunk from the “Goonies” LOL ☺.
Razer have established themselves (maybe even better than Asus and others) as a gaming company since out of the gate and that has been their claim to fame, but MSI is no slouch and they used to be a bigger player in the game, and maybe they will be again?
As far as specs go there is only so much you can put under the hood so most of the specs match the “Razer Blade Pro”, they both share the same Core i7 CPU, GeForce GTX765M Graphics card and 128GB SSD. The thing is MSI gives you double the RAM (Razer 8GB/MSI 16GB) of the Razer, it also gives you an additional 750GB Hybrid Drive to store your games on, which in itself is a much better option.
Razer does however throw in a touchscreen track pad that MSI lacks, but for the $1800.00 price tag it seems a better deal as you actually get more PC for the money. The 750GB hard drive will be very nice compared to the limitations of a single 128GB SSD that can barely hold the OS and a few programs, much less any real games, taking the gaming right out of the “Razer Blade Pro” for many would be buyers.
I could really care less about a touchscreen trackpad and think the additional memory and hard drive space are an excellent trade off. Thanks for reading Tech Of Tomorrow, where we love to see your thoughts in the comment section below. Overall, I think MSI is heading the right direction and I hope we see this unit in-house for review soon.
