We’re in the process of benching NVIDIA’s GTX Titan monster of a video card, but during the setup process we ran into some problems with our EVGA SR-X motherboard. We couldn’t get the Titan to post, so initially we thought maybe the card was bad, but after some quick research over at the EVGA forums, we discovered that it was a BIOS issue and required an update. Jacob, the product manager over at EVGA, stated that BIOS update 018 solved compatibility issues for both the Titan and Quadro series video cards but after speaking with support over the phone, we were informed that BIOS 019 was released and fixed issues if you were running a RAID setup. You can use this link to make sure your EVGA motherboard BIOS is using the most current up to date release.
Resident Evil 6 initially wasn’t going to be part of our testing but while downloading NVIDIA’s latest Titan drivers, we saw that the benchmark was fairly new (released in February 2013) and while it’s only DX9, it’s a free download so you guys can download it as well and share your results with us or compare it to the GTX Titan. We’ll be testing Crysis 3, Battlefield 3, Batman Arkham City and much more over the weekend, comparing results of the GTX Titan against the GTX 690 in a head to head battle to determine exactly how fast NVIDIA’s new beast is. For now we leave you with a sneak peak with Resident Evil 6 comparisons at high settings on both 2560 x 1600 and 1920 x 1080 resolutions. If you missed the video, we’ll have the embedded right below the benchmark chart below. Enjoy!
