We always try and keep a balanced perspective here at Tech of Tomorrow but it seems there will always be fanboys to a particular brand or product.

We wanted to do something fun, light-hearted and most important – interactive with our audience, so we came up with the “sh*t AMD fanboys say” project. Please realize this is all in good fun and we’ll be doing an Intel version next. :)

So, we want you guys to give us your best lines that AMD fanboys say (or would say) down in the comment section below and we’ll pick our top 10 and incorporate them into a song, which will be dubbed – “The AMD Fanboy Song.” Those who’s lines we select will get a shoutout on the video, both here on the site and on Youtube and also a Steam game key. Good luck, keep it clean and most importantly, have fun!

            Of course it would, AMD FX Chips work best when all the cores are utilized, not single threads, this is how it works, Intel has fewer strong cores whilist AMD has many weak cores and when it comes to using its full power, an 8350 is by far better than that crap and for a similar price.

            Physx is still here though and will be used on next gen consoles.

            want to talk about cooling ? how about that the 290x has a way smaller die then the 780 ? smaller dies naturally = more heat. plus unlike nvidia AMD is trying to reduce the die size and the process size…nvidia is still stuck at 28nm while amd is already 22nm, if the 290x die size was the same at the 780ti it would be a like a comparing a GTX titan to a gtx 660 LOL the 780ti being the gtx 660 ! LOLOL and considering amd crapped out on the cooler and test shown that with a Asus DCu cooler from a 280x vs a 780 with its own DCu cooler the 290x was actually cooler then the 780 and 780ti ! OH ! so looks like even with a smaller die the 290x is actually cooler then the 780s ! HA ! nvidia fanboys comparing cards when they are not even on a normal playing field …typical.

        Depends on alot of factors. When i built my PC, both the 7770 and the gtx 650 (non-ti) were $100. The 7770 has better performance in games that aren’t biased towards nvidia. But what you pay for when you get a slightly more expensive for equal performance is in all honesty, better cooling, dedicated physicsX, and better software and drives, plus more games optimized for that type of card. I took the 7770 because i didn’t care about that stuff and just needed the best possible performance for my small budget, but if i did have cash i’d probably go with nvidia, unless amd does their crazy shittons of free games specials again.

            I thought a 770, but then i reallized that you need a powerfull cpu as well or you are bottlenecking that powerfull videocard and you get 40% less perfomance…give or take your cpu

        Because they’re cheap and their only purpose is to supply the gpu’s with instruction. The actual work is done by the Tesla k20x gpu’s. :)

        Only faster when it comes to single cores but when you start doing heavy duty multitasking, even an I7 starts to lag so so much, I couldn’t even move the cursor and everything became slower(so slow that a Core 2 Duo would be considered faster).

            HIS ICE Q X2 7970 beats the GTX 680 in performance when it comes to high resolutions such as 2550X1600, 1920X1200 and Full HD and they’re fucking cheap over here compared to the GTX 680.

        Last time I checked, a 7970 cost less, performed by far better at higher resolutions and didn’t heat up as much as a GTX 680.

    Heat problems aside, I can get faster clocks speed with AMD CPU’s. AMD is so much cheeper than Intel, so when I fry one I can afford replacement easier.

    switching to amd in 2010 = can buy a cheaper processor that still is tugging on today with results comparable to a lower gen i5, plus i can upgrade the motherboard like a i did a few weeks ago while knowing that i can still use hard ware(cpu) from 3 years ago and knowing that my investment on the motherboard wont go up in ashes when i try to change the cpu in a few years time. All in all, amd has a better price/ performance ratio compared to intel (on a budget). If i want a full high end pc (1500+) ill go with a i7 or something

            Umm yes they can. X-Rebirth can create up to 28 workthreads so that each core will be dedicated to 1 workthread. Let’s not forget the countless pro applications such as Premiere, After Effects and some free encoders such as Mediacoder, all of which supports up to 16 real cores.

            What about if you are planning on recording game-play or live-streaming? Those extra four cores will help alot. On pure gaming and only gaming, a I5 would beat out the 8350 on stock though, but disabling the bulldozer modules and leaving just the 4 “true” cores will allow you to overclock it quite a bit more, and while the clock speeds isn’t all, it does help quite a bit.

            1.) Take advantage of 8 cores
            2.) Run better on AMD GPU’s

            Besides, we’re entering the multi-core era, most programs are starting to take use of more cores, but games might be a slow going still, so as of now, in the $200 range a I5 will beat out a 8350 in most games, that i’m not arguing about, but in the near future, those 4 powerhouses are going to be overtaken by the weaker 8 cores. Granted, most games depend on GPU’s more than CPU’s now a days, so either or, a certain CPU will give you max 5 FPS difference if they are in the same price range (I3 and FX 4300, I5 and FX 8350)

    I have both AMD CPU and GPU but only because i was on a strict $350 budget for my build, and from microcenter i got a fx-4100 for $100 and it came with a free motherboard. And at the time, both the 7770 and the GTX 650 (non-ti) were $100, and in non-nvidia optimized games, the 7770 is much better. But if I did have money, while i would still go for a 8350 over i5 since i also use alot of multi threaded programs, i would definitely take a nvidia card.
