For those of you who follow the site and our contests, you know we are building a really awesome TRON themed system with all kinds of cool mods and system parts to make it look all fancy like ☺.

We started off with a custom white metal flake paint job and preparing all the parts for the build and its various mods, but we also wanted to do something a bit new and something you folks could emulate on your own at home.

My friend and tech junkie Anthony Reynolds helps with all our builds and has been my in-house tech for 10 years now has won many modding competitions in his day. So far he has been a big help in this new adventure and a valued member on Team Tech.

We wanted to make this build have a color scheme that matched the Disney TRON theme as much as possible and that requires certain blues along with black and white to really grab the themes look. The video cards we are using are the Sapphire White Mac Edition 7950s that we have flashed to be standard 7950s for the PC. These cards already are already going in the right direction as far as the TRON color scheme goes, but we decided to take it a step further and I think you folks will like the direction we went. TRON is so computer geek related a PC dedicated to it makes absolute total sense in my fan filled mind. Plus I have always like the cool blues and sterile clean white color blend that with the black accents just looks awesome all around.

So where to start? First off we had to measure the back of the card to get the correct size to cut the Plexiglas to so it would fit on the back of the card perfectly. Then we proceeded to cut the Plexiglas to the appropriate size using the BladeRunner saw you see in the pictures.

Then came to finding the exact location to drill the 4 holes needed to mount to new blue Plexi-Mod to the back of the card, which also protects the card from damage as well as looking really excellent. The results were very nice and made the cards look more tech-geek as well as more matching the TRON color scheme that we were shooting for with this build. It is hard to be exact in our match-up, but what we miss in tone we will make up with cool.

We will be running the cards in CrossFire in the system and be working on a custom CrossFire connection to use in the system as well just for show, ya know? We are now working on the custom liquid Swiftech cooling system for the CPU and have some cool new mods for the radiator that you are going to like as well when you see them. This has been a lot of fun and the thing I like best is that you can take this same idea and use it to mod your current video card to match your system builds color scheme in a few short moves.

This is a work in progress as TRON has always been one of my favorite concept movies. In that light I want to make this as nice as possible, but also make it so others can have fun and do their own take on what we do here. So next up is the case reassembly and lighting effects that I think you will like very much as they really do look very cool and are easy to do as well. So what do you guys think is this a cool, quick and easy, but nice looking mod? What would you have done differently if it were you doing the build? Your voice and opinions matter here on Tech OF Tomorrow, thanks for reading!
