Following the UI demonstrations, they began to go more in depth into the actual nuts and bolts of the system, while still leaving some bits to the imagination, including the system having 8 GB of RAM, an 8-Core processor (with no mention of actual processing power), a 500 GB hard drive, USB 3.0 ports, Blu-Ray player, and HDMI out.
So far, we know the Playstation 4 is running off similar specs, but comparatively to modern day PC builds, most of our readers and viewers would be disappointed with the lack of flash storage or mention of 4K support on either device. To most consumers, this isn’t a big deal and the PC crowd will continue to lead in next-gen technology.
They also showed off the new controller design, which features several of the same buttons and layout as before, albeit reshaped to improve comfortability and performance, as well as mentioning continued interface support with tablets via smartglass.

While no official statement was made regarding rumors of always online play or prevention of used game sales, Microsoft did mention that they would offer devs the ability to use “the cloud” as a means to allow for more heavy duty computing for games that needed online connections. What this means is that while always online is not 100%, it is a possibility that some individual titles may require it, though as a trade off for possibly greater content than would be available offline.
