Google Releases Chromecast: $35 HDMI Video Streaming Dongle

Google has just released its highly anticipated Chromecast and to much fanfare. This small, inexpensive ($35 USD) device allows users to enjoy their favorite TV programming and music right on their TV screen.

Installing it is easy, simply attach it to the HDMI socket on your TV and then use your device of preference to connect to it, wirelessly with no remote controls needed.

Giving users the ability to cast most anything from their PC, Mac, Tablet or Cellphone, Chromecast ushers in a new wave of flexibility, usability all an in easy-to-setup format.

Currently, only Netflix, Youtube and Google Play work with the device, no word about Hulu as of this time. Currently, Google is offering three months of free Netflix if you purchase from one of its launch partners – Best Buy, Google Play or Amazon. Check out the video below to see it in action:
