NVIDIA Gives Tegra Note 7 LTE and HSPA+ Connectivity. Soon the Mobile World Congress will be underway, but before it takes off NVIDIA has some interesting news to tell the public about their Tegra Note7. NVIDIA announced today that their new Tegra 7 will be able to gather data, even when its not near a WiFi zone for sustained information on their device. For some people this may not be that big of a deal, but to a businessperson on the constant go, this could be a really great innovation from Team Green.
So what is different? Underneath its plastic shroud all the technology has remained the same as the WiFi model, but with the exception of NVIDIA’s new i500 LTE modem integrated into the unit. NVIDIA claims that their new i500 chip is a very special product, and one leverages a unique software-defined radio technology – meaning it can deliver new capabilities via software without requiring an entirely new chipset. This new technology does however come with a staggering $100 premium cost over the WiFi model. For a 7-inch tablet the price is still within the competition, but for some paying close to 50% more over the WiFi unit may seem a bit much, but for those who can really use this innovation it will be a no-brainer decision. Tegra Note 7 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which is now rolling out at an OTA for all the existing Tegra Note models.
