NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880 Specs Revealed today by website Tyden.cz. For NVIDIA fans waiting to see what their favorite green team is up to it seems the cat has been let out of the bag and the first specs (Albeit Rumored) have arrived on the net in a timely fashion. This new card will feature Maxwell architecture and will feature SMM (Streaming Multiprocessor Maxwell) SIMD designs, which were introduced in the TX 750 Ti that made its debut a few weeks back now. Although only a rumor at this time this story is floating around the web.

The new GPU core is called the GM 204 and should be able to put a wallop on the GK110 as newer technology usually wins the performance war. Obviously we will see more of just about everything, more CUDA, more memory, TMUs, ROPs etc and maybe more. NVIDIA will most likely start off at the lower end and slowly push their way into the higher-end more expensive type cards. For now this is what we have seen and the supposed specs are listed below. This information is not directly from NVIDIA corporate so there may be some changes in the final specs, but for now at least it seems the new 8 series is coming very soon.

  • 20 nm GM204 silicon
  • 7.9 billion transistors
  • 3,200 CUDA cores
  • 200 TMUs
  • 32 ROPs
  • 5.7 TFLOP/s single-precision floating-point throughput
  • 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface
  • 4 GB standard memory amount
  • 238 GB/s memory bandwidth
  • Clock speeds of 900 MHz core, 950 MHz GPU Boost
  • 7.40 GHz memory
  • 230W Minimum Power

NVIDIA Debuts GeForce Experience 2.0 on Monday April 7th. Its early Monday morning and we are happy to announce the latest release of NVIDIA’s control center for gaming, other wise known by the moniker GeForce Experience 2.0. 2.0 really brings a lot of new things to the portable gaming world and gamers who find themselves doing a lot of laptop gaming will now be able to do a multitude things previously only available to the desktop.

Since its first iteration in May of 2013 the GeForce Experience has been a growing entity that seems to be getting better step by step. When version 1.0 was released there were 80 game titles available and an almost overnight 1 million installs of the software GUI.

Screenshot 2014-04-07 01.58.40

By October NVIDIA had implemented SHADOWPLAY, where users could now capture their game playing footage much better than FRAPS, and GAMESTREAM allowing users to play 100 games by way of their SHEILD through the NVIDIA cloud.

Screenshot 2014-04-07 02.29.42

By November Adjustable OPS was announced and now 120 game titles were supported with 18M installs. For Christmas NVIDIA let loose they’re TWITCH Broadcast option allowing users to “Live” broadcast their gaming so they could now show off their mad skills to the world. At this point there were also 130 games titles supported and 24 million people had jumped on GeForce Experience bandwagon. TWITCH has become a very popular way for people to share and NVIDIA was smart to add this into their feature set.

Screenshot 2014-04-07 02.30.15

Today NVIDIA announces 4 new things with the release of GeForce Experience 2.0 and many of them seem to be focused on the laptop and mobile sector, but not there are also a few new cool things all around with 2.0. SHADOWPLAY on Notebooks, GAMESTREAM on Notebooks, Battery Boost, and Desktop Capture are all new things that are being introduced today by team green. With this release also comes a brand new DX 12 capable driver the new 337.50, which replaces the 335.23 driver offering substantial performance gains and better overall performance than MANTLE can currently muster.

Screenshot 2014-04-07 02.11.17

Now you will be able to have all of your games on your laptop optimized for not only better playing, but also 2X longer gaming times. This will run automatically in the background with very little system resources being used. NIDIA’s Battery Boost is a step in the right direction for laptop gaming as there is a huge divide between desktop and laptop GPU/CPU power and now with GeForce Experience 2.0 your games will automatically be set to what is best for your system. You will also now be able to capture and broadcast all of your games from your laptop as well as stream all of your titles to the NVIDIA SHEILD via GAMESTREAM.

Screenshot 2014-04-07 02.11.35

Screenshot 2014-04-07 02.10.23

Full Desktop Capture is another feature of 2.0 and will now allow users to capture images from your desktop. This new feature will be used for capturing Windowed and Borderless Windowed Games in both DirectX and OpenGL games. This is something that is currently only for the desktop and one of the features not having to do with the mobile market, yet. Another desktop feature is custom encoding and new broadcast options. You can now create a custom output resolutions as well as custom Bit Rate and Framerates, Auto-pause using the Alt-Tab keys, broadcast at 60 FPS and 2.0 now allows Auto Game Naming.  All in all you can see NVIDIA wants to make your gaming environment even better and easier than ever with GeForce Experience 2.0 and it will be available for download by the time you are reading this at 6AM PST. If you are an NVIDIA fan it has never been easier to keep your games up to date, configured for there best playing options and with the latest drivers always installed. Are you Experienced? If you have a new NVIDIA card and are not using the GeForce Experience you are seriously missing out on something cool from team green. Thanks for reading Tech Of Tomorrow where we have a comparison of the older 335.23 driver against the new 337.50, and the results are very nice so check out the site later today for that article.

2014 is said to be the year of 4K, but will it be the year of 4K for you? Maybe it’s time to start thinking about going 4K because Samsung has announced that their 28-inch 4K UD590 monitor will soon hit U.S. shelves for only $700.

The UD590 is a 28-inch monitor with a resolution of 3840×2160 (4K), featuring a TN panel and pushing 157 PPI. It is capable of displaying 10-bit color, or 1 billion colors, which, in theory, would result in precise color accuracy. It has a 60Hz refresh rate paired with a 1ms GTG response time, for all you gamers out there.

The 28-inch 4K panel has seen the spotlight in South Korea for a couple months now, but Samsung is ready to send it to U.S. shores. Simply put, the UD590 has a minimal, yet elegant, design. It has silver and black bezels that look quite classy. Since we are in 2014, there are no DVI connectors to be found, rather; two HDMI connectors and a lone DisplayPort (which is required to run the native 4K resolution at the 60Hz refresh rate).

Let’s clear the air a bit about the 10-bit TN panel. There are two primary technologies in LCD displays today: TN and IPS. TN has the advantage of being faster and cheaper while IPS boasts much wider viewing angles. What makes this Samsung monitor unique is that it has 10-bit color at a $700 price point. Usually one would have to spend well over $1000 on an IPS monitor for this billion-color feature, but here, Samsung is offering 10-bit on a TN monitor, which is quite special.

However, before buying this, or any, 4K monitor, you have to think: is it worth it? 4K usually comes with a huge price tag and having such a high resolution may look UI elements in your OS of choice look a bit too small for your taste. And if you’re looking to game at 4K, get ready to buy some wallet-draining Titans. 4K makes a great amount of sense for designers and professional photographers, and with Samsung’s 10-bit support, it would be ideal for the creative folks out there.

At this point in time it’s probably better to save some dough and go 1440p, but there’s that geek inside me, and all of us, that wants to press that darn buy-now button while salivating over 4K glory.

In just a week’s time AMD’s new dual-GPU card is expected to arrive on the market, but a recent leak has given us a bit of insight as to what to expect before the NDA lifts and a torrent of official information releases.

The official name for the card looks to be the R9 295X2, featuring two Hawaii XT GPUs and 8GB of memory. It’s reported that the card will take somewhere around 500W of power, and will make use of a hybrid cooling solution in which the Hawaii cores will use closed-loop liquid cooling with the rest of the card just using air. Lastly it looks as though the card will have at least five output options including one DVI-D port and 4 mini-DisplayPorts to support multiple screen setups, 4k, and potentially even 8k displays.

The announcement and release of this card is AMD’s response to the super high priced $3,000 Nvidia Titan Z, also featuring a dual-GPU setup. With less memory and most likely a bit less power in comparison, the R9 295X2 will most likely serve as a more affordable, albeit still really expensive card. A number of reviewers have apparently received briefcases said to contain the new card, but no more information than that is going to get out until the NDA lifts with the card’s assumed release date of a week from today, April 8th.

Those of you who’ve been stuck waiting for Battlefield 4’s next DLC to arrive on PC can finally get your hands on it.

The Naval Strike pack was originally meant to come out last week, and did on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One; but due to other recent patches having just come out for PC, DICE decided it would be best to wait a bit for release as there were potential stability issues on mid to high range PC builds.

This is the third of five planned DLC packs to come out for Battlefield 4, and as the name implies it adds a lot of content for more sea based combat. In total it adds four new maps, five weapons, two gadgets, a hovercraft vehicle, and the new Carrier Assault Mode.

This is a variant mode of domination and is based on the Titan mode from Battlefield 2142, in which players compete to capture points that activate rocket launchers set to destroy the opposing team’s carrier. Those of you with season passes can download it now, while the rest of you buying in installments will have to wait two more weeks before being able to buy it.

It’s that time of the month again. No, not that time of the month ya perverts, we’re talking about the best PC & Gaming deals for March 2014.

Kicking off the list is more of a “for fun” item as once we saw it, we got a kick out of it since we’re use to checking out higher end products. The EVGA GeForce 8400 is still alive and kicking for a whopping $31.99. Anyone remember this card or still own it?

Next up on the list is a great case deal, so if you’ve been looking to build a PC for the first time, right now the Rosewill Galaxy mid-tower gaming case is on sale for $49.99. It features USB 3.0, solid cooling options and has a really nice black/red look with stellar reviews to boot.

If you’ve yet to pick up Bioshock Infinite, there has never been a better time. Currently, the entire collection is on sale for $11.99 which is one of the best deals we’ve yet to see on this collection. Definitely jump on it if you haven’t.

MOAR DEALS.

Palit has just announced their brand new GTX 780 JetStream video card which packs a monstrous 6GB of GDDR5 memory.

While the design of the card hasn’t changed, it still looks damn sweet and features up to a 902 MHz core clock with a 6 GHz memory clock. As noted from their marketing picture below, Palit is gearing this 6GB version towards 4K gaming which is where the extra memory would come in handy.

It should also be noted as well that the GTX 780 by itself is a pretty solid over-clocker so combined with Palit’s triple fan cooling should equal some pretty solid performance. We think this looks like it should be a solid card but let us know what you think with a comment below!

Intel Reinvents The Desktop For 2014 And Introduces 4 New Overclocking Products

Intel Reinvents The Desktop For 2014 And Introduces 4 New Overclocking Products. The first question that comes to mind is to why is Intel reinventing something that has already been firmly established in today’s modern world? Well for one thing change; which is not only inevitable, it is also a necessary process in the evolution of the desktop environment. In the beginning, which sounds surprisingly like the first words in the bible J the desktop PC was a beast that had a really small monitor to view everything on and everything was as white as a Canadian winter. Monitors got bigger; colors changed and gaming really bloomed like no one ever thought it would forever changing the landscape of the PC.

Screenshot 2014-03-25 19.36.16

With that came the all-new breed of super gaming systems with “UBER” gaming CPUs, GPUs and cases of every size shape and color imaginable. We saw a really short span of the SFF PC, but LAN boxes pushed those puny systems to the curb. Then came the “hardcore” competitive Overclockers, Modders and a whole new level of attention keeping the big desktop going with another breath of life. Liquid cooling not only became acceptable, for anyone looking to do overclocking it became the mainstay instead of the “Only For The Hardcore” user it once was. Intel dominated the game throughout the entire what I will call the Big Pc Era, but times have now changed to the point of mobile market taking over what was once the PC dominated market. Intel is moving with the changes and now has product lines from small PC’s such as the NUC (Next Level Of Computing) to tablets, touch-screens, laptops and more.

Intel Updates their AIO lineup and Software

The AIO market is pretty new territory for everyone and it’s starting to take on new ideas and software to help make theme even more user friendly for as many audiences as possible. Intel will have not only new AOI products that will have a great touchscreen interface with a very high definition monitor to view all your work or play. Intel currently is focusing a few key areas in their roadmap and journey to reinvent the desktop, which they started back in 2009/2010. Portability, touch interface and multi-user collaboration were a few of the key areas focused on at that time point. In the 2011/2012 era Intel saw through concept testing that more people were moving away from the standard desktop into other areas such as cloud computing and that models that featured detachable screens that preferably were able to be laid flat were starting to become more and more in demand.

Screenshot 2014-03-25 18.59.12

In 2013 Intel introduced their portable AIO line and made them available for the mainstream audience. As can be seen by the provided slides the near future will see Intel working on the next generation of AIO products. New AIOs that will be even more user friendly, but also much smarter and able to interface with the host user on a much different level than ever before. The Intel RealSense Camera, which will lead us to another road in the story as well as advanced audio and a Quad Array microphone are all some things we shall in the future. Intel also announced the release of 12 new pAIO Multi-User, Multi-Touch Applications that will not only offer better family entertainment, but also a lot of really cool software applications that the whole family can enjoy together or alone. Wheel Of Fortune, Parking Frenzy, Prankster Planet, a few different varieties of Halli as well as Tarzan Unleashed (Hopefully Not Unclothed) and for the children Crayola Color, Draw and Sing.

Intel brings the NUC Desktop to new places

Screenshot 2014-03-25 19.35.58

We have thus far mentioned Intel ‘s Next Unit Of Computing, which is basically a very small footprint PC that has many different configuration options that can be used for a variety of applications. Form gaming to interfacing in just about as many places you can think of Intel wants the NUC to spread like a wildfire and has shown many different ways of implementing their little baby into your business. Some of the cooler ones involve Point And Pour options at your local bar, you know you walk in and your phone tells the NUC you have arrived and the bartender makes your drink before you even have to bug them.  The same could be done at your local StarFuchs or other such coffee establishments and your drink could be getting steamed or iced without the hassle of waiting to place an order. The ways that you could possible interface are pretty limitless as long as all the devices can properly speak to each other and when that happens it will be interesting to say the least.

Announcing Ready Mode Technology

Intel Ready Mode Technology is a capability that takes advantage of new power-saving states in Intel’s 4th gen Core desktop processor combined with software and board level optimizations which enable OEM desktop computers that are instantly ready and always connected while sipping power. So now in English, okay so say you walk into your home after being out all day with the family or friends and you have a bunch of photos on your smart device, be it phone, tablet whatever and as soon as you walked into your home they were automatically transferred to your home PC? This is just one of the things that Ready Mode Technology will bring on deck when it arrives later this year for the desktop environment. Now all of your portable smart devices will be able to talk to your home PC and losing those personal moments will hopefully become a thing of the past. Other applications include being able to access your PC from anywhere via your personal smart device. So if you need something really important while out and about from your computer without hassle.

Okay so now lets get to the meat and Potatoes of Intel’s announcements, those about new CPUs as everybody loves a new CPU as it always means faster products and price drops on older technology. First off is the all-new Intel; Core i7 Processor Extreme Edition, which will be availed to the public in the 2nd half of 2014. This will be the very first Intel 8-Core desktop CPU that will also feature DDR4 memory and be supported by the new Intel X99 Chipset. Pricing as of yet has not been announced, but expect then to be fairly pricey, not kidney pricey, but maybe a pinky finger, just saying LOL

Next up we see the all new Unlocked 5th Generation Intel Core CPU with Intel Iris Pro Graphics. What we know so far is what you see it’s a new 5th Gen CPU that is based off the code named Broadwell tech and will be available for the 9 series chipset for the desktop market. These new Broadwell CPUs show Intel delving even deeper into the onboard graphics market something AMD has heavily relied upon lately with their FX and A series APUs. This will be the very first desktop processor to feature the Iris Pro onboard and hopefully it will satisfy the user group who really appreciates that side of the technology. I myself am a gamer and so far onboard has mean Ho-Hum, but maybe Intel is trying to change that one generation at a time.

To celebrate 20-years of Pentium processors Intel will release their first-ever Anniversary Edition Pentium CPU, which will be available mid year in 2014 and is really a cool thing for the collector as well as the enthusiast. This will be the first Pentium to support Intel Quick Sync Video, will be completely unlocked and be supported by both the 8 and 9 series chipsets. Pricing and other details are scarce right now, but nonetheless this is really cool idea that Intel has with this CPU and I know that I want to get my hands on one when it come out, and if you are an Intel fan you may just feel the same way. Pricing and all the rest will just have to wait, but the very concept is something that will be very interesting to see when it hits the shelves later this year. Happy 20th to the Pentium folks may she ever grace our PC with plenty of power and features.

Last but by no means least is Intel’s latest Unlocked 4th Generation Core CPU Codename: Devi’s Canyon, which is slated for release mid year 2014 along with many of its counterparts show here today. These processors are being made for the new 9 series chipset motherboards and will feature improved thermal interface material (Better Overclocking) and updated packaging materials. Intel claims that these new CPUs are being re-engineered for enhanced performance and overclocking and should be just an improvement with a speed bump over current generation CPUs. Pricing, speeds and SKUs have yet to surface, but Intel will surely do something to make them appealing to you in one way or another. Well that wraps up Intel’s announcements for the coming few months and the news sounds quite exciting with cool new things for the summer months from what we can see here.
