It seems as though however, ASUS wants to quell those negative feelings and bring to the table a system that has all the bells and whistles a hard-core enthusiast would want inside their tower.

Their new system is called the ROG TYTAN CG8890 Desktop PC and comes fleshed out with an i7-3960X CPU with Turbo Gear, a GTX 690 with 4GB of GDDR5 that supports up to 4 monitors or 3D Surround. It is also rumored to come with one of their latest PCIe SSDs that features RAID 0 on a single PCIe card and is said to deliver 4X the performance of a standard SSD configuration.

The system is also a bit of a transformer, as when it is overclocked, the case actually transforms, which this in itself is actually a pretty neat thing as how many PCs can claim the same thing? None that I know of as of now that is for sure.

The exterior of the case also is something not on the normal beat and track “On top of the aerodynamic polygonal exterior that features an intricately designed chassis that transforms when the system is overclocked, the additional DEFCON and bottom grill lighting indicator shows system readiness with blue and red LED lights.” Asus said. “With its upgraded 10-way venting and liquid cooled CPU, the CG8890’s case is a cooling behemoth engineered to deliver the most efficient heat dissipation and airflow for incredible stability in any extreme condition.”

Not only do you get a system with kick-ass looks and specs but you also get instant and stable overclocking by way of the one-click Turbo Gear that offers three different overclocked states. With just a simple click of a button the system can be started up with 3 different speeds of overclocking depending on how far you want to go. There is also the DEFCON indicator and bottom grill lighting that shows the systems readiness with various red and blue LED lights that change depending on what overclock speed you so choose.

You can get a easy overclock to 4.2GHz, but to me that is nothing new as the TPU button on most ASUS motherboards can do the exact same thing with ease. The overclocking starts at 3.8GHz and tops off at 4.2GHz without a restart, but depending on the cooling better scores may be obtained and more than 4.2GHz should be very achievable. Below are the 3 boot options available to the user.

Startup mode

All of us like choices, as that makes us feel more in control of what we are buying and ASUS has said that there will be multiple versions of this new PC line to be had. This means that if you like the concept and design of the CG8890 desktop, but cannot afford the extreme high-end components, you can choose from lower end and more affordable system components.

Users will be able to choose from other components like NVIDIA’s GTX 680 2GB video card, the option from 4GB to 16GB of memory, up to 15TB of internal storage via HDD and/or up to 256GB of SSD storage, a short list of optical drives and additional things that will be seen when the system hits the market for sale. “The additional ASUS Xonar DX audio card powered by Dolby Home Theater technologies delivers 35 times cleaner audio quality (116dB SNR) than onboard audio codecs, giving gamers the edge by hearing their enemy way before the enemy sees them.” Asus added. Pre-builds are not for everyone, but if you do not have the knowledge or a “guy” to build you one your options are obviously narrowed down a bit and in those circumstances having one already built and ready to go could be a blessing.

The last system we received from ASUS had a sub-$900.00 price tag and many people tried to rain on that parade claiming they could build one for less, but after we added up the parts and accessories the system was actually a very solid deal. ASUS has not yet released either system to the open market. And no confirmed pricing has been released on this new ROG TYTAN CG8890 Desktop PC, but those should follow shorty hereafter. The most commonly asked question is regarding a $500.00 gaming system, usually followed by those who want a $1000.00 system, but rarely do I get requests for over the top systems as those are out of the budget of many gamers.

Enter the M51AC from ASUS, which is a complete gaming system, pre-built and for sale off-the-shelf fully functional with the OS installed as well as all the drivers and anything else system related so you can just plug one in and start gaming.

Pricing & Various Models

We were able to get a hold of the ASUS M51AC-US015S which boasts a ton of features and very decent specs for a mid level gaming solution. This time we actually did something a bit different than our standard unboxing as we take you through the entire thing as seen through the eyes of Google Glass.

This is really rather cool and my friends from TLD had done something similar on their channel and thought my viewers might like to see an unboxing in that format, so we went ahead and unboxed the entire ASUS system via the Google Glass. ASUS really wants to get some exposure on these new systems and what better way than something different.

The case is very simple and straightforward in its design and offers dual USB 3.0, as well as 2.0 connections and there are also headphone and mic inputs all on the front side for easy access. There is also a multi-card reader that supports almost every format of card media behind the top panel in the front of the case.

Featuring an ASUS Micro-ATX mobo, Intel Core i7-4770-Non K Edition CPU with an air cooler, 8GB of DDR3 1600 MHz memory, a 2 TB SATA 3 hard drive, 8X Blu-ray/DVD-R combo drive, a GTX 650 1GB video card and a very balanced rear I/O located on the back of the case.
