It will come as no shock that Apple’s new iPhone 5 was announced today, as this will be a highly anticipated release in the mobile market. So what makes this new Iphone so special? Well to start off with the new screen Retina Display is 4’’ and offers a high resolution of 1136 x 640, which equates to 326 Pixels Per Inch that should look just amazing. The new IPhone 5 is the same width as the iPhone 4 only it is a bit taller. This new IOS device will be the new starring prince of Apple’s mobile applications and futures a glass and aluminum enclosure that is actually thinner by and 18% margin than either the IPhone 4S or the iPhone 4. As far as the weight goes the new iPhone 5 is also 20% lighter than the previous generation models weighing in at 112 grams.
The previously rumored in-cell technology is present, and this allows for the screen of the new iPhone 5 to be even thinner than before as the touch sensors are integrated into the display itself, thus eliminating a separate layer in the phone allowing the new iPhone 5 to be the thinnest of its kind. How this affects the life of the screen will have to be seen in real time to really see if it maintains the same lifespan. LTE connectivity will also be prevalent as I assume most Apple fans expected and i5 now uses a single chip for voice and data the features dynamic antenna that switches connections on a needed basis. When you travel quite a bit connectivity is a very important aspect of your cellular device and the LTE connectivity will work on all US, European and other nations around the world for the ultimate in connectivity options.
Some of the most important features of the new IPhone 5 will be battery life and the new A6 processor. The A6 is twice as fast as the previous gen A5 as well as being 22% smaller and offering better efficiency in processing power. You can talk on either your 3G or LTE for 8 hours and you can browse web for 10 or leave it in standby for 225 hours all in all pretty impressive. You do get an additional microphone bringing the total to 3 in lieu of the previous gens 2. You now get mics located on the Top on the Bottom and 1 rear of the iPhone 5. This was done to ensure better noise cancellation features and to improve the voice recognition features of the iPhone 5. The new earphones we showed you here in last weeks rumors are also included in the box. Lets just hope they sound as good as they look as they really do look really unique in the design, but that is only the visual aspect not the aural.
Unfortunately the rear camera gets no boost or change in the resolution as it maintains its 8-megapixel sensor, although you will notice that the sensor is now thinner and has a sapphire crystal lens cover. If you take a lot of night photos or photos in clubs or indoors the new dynamic low light mode should help out and the faster photo capture option will make capturing pictures easier than ever. As far as the front facing camera goes it will offer up 720p HD video capture and be able to take photos and videos simultaneously. As far as colors and looks go the new iPhone 5 will be available in either black or white with the black version having a black anodized aluminum back and the white version will have a raw aluminum back. The prices are relative to the features of each model with the 16GB being priced at $199; the 32GB at $299 and the 64GB will be at $399.00 with a new IPhone contract. With all these new features though the new iPhone 5 will be something to consider, now I just have to wait until mine arrives to give a more thorough review. If you are looking to get one for yourself Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will begin on Friday, September 14 and Apple will begin shipping the new device on September 21 in nine countries including the US and Canada. The iPhone 5 will become available in additional countries next month and in 100 countries by the end of the year.
