In what may be the biggest shock at Google I/O 2013, at an event that we figured we’d see a revamped Nexus 7, maybe a different Chromebook, Google threw us all a curve ball and announced a stock Android 4.2 Samsung Galaxy S4. Yes. A stock Android. Galaxy. S4.

The stock Galaxy S4 will ship in June through the Google Play Store, feature 16GB of storage and support T-Mobile and AT&T LTE network speeds. Pricing will be $649, which is slightly higher than a current unlocked GS4, which is slightly odd but maybe users won’t mind paying extra for that pure Android experience on a Galaxy S4.

Samsung noted that they’ve already sold 6 million Galaxy S4 units, and I’m sure most users won’t care but I’m willing to bet a few S4 users are kicking themselves for not waiting for essentially a flagship ‘Nexus’ Galaxy S4. Will you be ordering one? and what does this mean for the Nexus line of smartphones? Is it the end? Let us know in the comments below!
