As Intel’s Haswell launch inches closer, it should come as no surprise that notebook refreshes will follow shortly there after and with that, it looks like Apple is gearing to update it’s MacBook Air lineup.
Apple Insider recently reported that inventory for Apple’s most popular MacBook Air models are almost slim to none at a few of the most popular Apple resellers.
The popular 13-inch MacBook Air with a 1.8-gigahertz processor and 256-gigabyte solid-state drive is currently out of stock at resellers Amazon, B&H, MacConnection, and MacMall. In addition, J&R is currently advertising that the thin-and-light notebook is only available for purchase in its brick-and-mortar stores.
For Apple fans, 2013 has been a rather quiet year thus far in terms of product releases but with WWDC 2013 just around the corner, we can definitely expect the folks over at Cupertino to shake things up and a MacBook refresh fits in perfectly.
Until this point there hasn’t been a whole lot of rumors pointing towards the MacBook Pro lineup but we can only assume those will be updating alongside the MacBook Airs at WWDC or shortly there after. Hopefully Apple ditches the non-retina models, which would then lower current Retina MacBook Pro models but we’ll of course have to wait and see.
At the very least, an Intel Haswell equipped MacBook Air should offer a nice performance bump, not only the the processing side of things but also graphics wise, with improved integrated graphics. If you currently own a MacBook Air, which model are you using? and what are your thoughts on the upcoming refresh from Apple? Stay peeled to the website, as we’ll keep you up to date and definitely get our hands on the launch once it’s official.
