You Can Upgrade Your Xbox One Hard Drive, But it’s Not Easy.

Looks like the Playstation 4, aside from being $100 cheaper than the Xbox One, has another advantage over it’s Microsoft competitor – ease of upgrading the hard drive.

Sony provides easy access to swap out your drive to either a bigger capacity model, hybrid drive or even SSD whereas Microsoft made it a much more difficult task. In order to do so you have to rip apart your Xbox One and remove both the Wi-Fi adapter and system’s speaker to do so. The stock hard drive is a traditional 2.5″ Seagate model running at 5400 rpm which makes us PC users a little sad :(.

The Xbox One does have a more polished interface and exclusive titles like Ryse: Son of Rome and Forza 5 but does that justify the pricing or limitations we’ve seen so far? We know most of our readers will more than likely stick with PC gaming over console gaming but if you did happen to pick up a PS4 or Xbox One, let us know and why down in the comment section below!

Hardware upgrading on PC: can upgrade CPU, GPU, motherboard, ram, cpu cooler, case, sound card, network card, power supply, etc.
Hardware upgrading on consoles: can upgrade hard drive.

  If you wasn’t bothered about the warranty of the Xbox then you could have a little bit of fun and if the Socket fits correctly you could water-cool the Custom AMD Chip Would need to modify the Case and such but meh if you’re into that sort of thing, its more than possible

500GB is enough space IMO. And Microsoft said that external HDDs will be supported (Later on?).

Really want a Xbox One, too bad no release date has been confirmed for my country….

  Running at 5400 rpm Microsoft went really cheap on that one. That’s less than $50 for a HDD….I’ll upgrade to a Samsung 840 Pro 500GB as soon as possible, or a 1TB SSD as soon as Samsung come out with a newer Pro version with more space.(EVO isn’t meant for constant use js)
  Yes I do like gaming on xbox but they’re making it hard to stay….

  there is no longer a 24hr surveillance that motive has been banished as said in terms and services at startup game sharing is applicable there is no longer a ban an honestly from playing both consoles the ps4 controller handles like shit thers way too much lag for data to reach the console the so called “high def” on sony’s own ultra HD tv looked like xbox360 on their so called “highest resolution game game console ever” honestly think sony has the money for good graphics and such but they keep pushing out weak shitty graphics for their consumers robbing them for what they paid for watching them scurry around in joy with the same graphics as their last system sony has become the beats headphones of the gaming industry :/

im sticking with pc xbox one gpu will get out dated in 4 years since my pc is way to powerful like 5 xbox ones but i will support the ps4 microsoft wants to change the way people game with trsh no gamer care’s about all that wasted space they used for a cable box they could of did better but sony was in the game for years they know and will out last any console i see this as a dreamcast and then theres new console coming like steambox will take there spot ps4 steambox war microsoft and nintendo wars

Well guys, i just say SAME ARCHITECTURE^^

The emulators will work perfect on PC and then is no fucking title exclusive for the consoles;)

You could run the consoleemulator as virtualmashine!

You could have both consoles and PC in one mashine…

And to be at the topic, you can have 32 TB of storage in a standard workmashine^^

  Just wonder why the cell code was never cracked for emulation; It was a shame I think cell can still whip the ps4 and xbone asses…ps3 was never pushed to it’s limit in my opinion.All that computing promise was set aside for easier cross platform sales under a unified architecture. Now us P.C. gamers get decent games rather then shitty x box 360 ports…
