Performance and Temperatures 

As you would expect the performance on the R9 280X rivals that of the HD 7970 GHz Edition cards placing it faster than a GTX 760, and even beating in some instances the GTX 770 a card priced at over a $100.00 more.

The cooling works very well on the card and we saw maximum temps in the 66 Celsius under a full load. We run out tests at least three time and then balance out the scoring for a more accurate end result. The card runs cooler than previous generation HD 7970 cards and that is a bonus in itself as heat is always the enemy of your video card.

    Nice, the 1100MHz stock clock is pretty impressive, and I love the look of it. Not sure if it could run too well on my CX430 though (it would work on the 384W 12V rail, although not sure how long the psu would last :/).
