Yesterday Logitech announced and showed off three new additions to their G series line of gaming related peripherals, the G602 wireless gaming mouse, G440 Hard gaming mouse pad, and the G240 Cloth mouse pad.

The G602 looks to be a more long term performance item, with a declared battery life of 250 hours while in performance mode and up to 1,440 hours if being run in endurance mode which reduces the sensors a bit. It even has the option to run off of only one battery should you choose if you want a way to reduce the weight a bit.

It featured 11 programmable buttons, sensitivity controls ranging from between 250 DPI to 2500 DPI, mechanical microswitches that logitech claims can last 20 million clicks,  and “delta zero” sensor technology for a great degree of cursor control. The G602 mouse is available for pre-order now at a price point of $80, alone with the G440 hard mouse pad at $30, and the G240 cloth mouse pad at $20.

250-2500 dpi?? about damn time. my old G5 could do 2000 (died of old age this spring after a trusty almost 8 years., i have a RAT7 now and its 8500dpi sensor is just nuts and WAY too hyper-active. I keep it at about 800-1000 usually and that’s gaming in triple screen. I’ve read that most hardcore/pro gamers actually tend to stay in the 800-1600dpi range, so i see little use with the absurd sensors most mice have these days. I would very much love to see this mouse come in a corded flavor with adjustable weights, and i would be all over it. as Karl said, I hope to see a review!

That mouse looks like it would hurt my hand.
I have the razer naga epic, and the wireless is just fine for gaming.
I use my mouse at 5600 DPI 90% of the time, that dpi would be too low for me.
Mechanicall switches are fuckin awesome though.

I love logitech products, their gaming gear looks so professional and neat. I have the Anywhere MX mouse, and I wished they had a gaming mouse with a similar design to that. WIth this new mouse, my problem is solved, but now, how to get that in the UK while still being at a resonable price…
