MSI Launches All-In-One Windows 8 Gaming PC
When Intel first introduced the AIO (All-In-One) system it was a pretty straightforward design featuring a Touch-Screen monitor and all the components in a single housed package not geared for the hard-core gamer. MSI however, wants to change the image of the AIO and make it not only something to be proud of but something that you can actually game on. Introducing the all-new MSI AG2712, a complete AIO with the ability to function as a primary gaming machine that breaks the tradition of the standard AIO that was more geared for home multimedia use. This system is also shipping with Windows 8 to take maximum advantage of the all-in-one’s features including the Tile style interface.
So what you get is a 27’’ Touch-Screen monitor that sports a discreet graphics card, the GTX 670X to be exact, an ethernet jack, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, audio in/out that features THX TruStudio Pro sound and what would an all-in-on be without WiFi. The system can be configured with either an Intel i5 or i7 CPU and various memory sizes depending on your need and budget. On the left side of the AG2712 are where the power and control buttons are located and the system can come in a variety of colors. In case you still want to use your DVD’s or load drivers or data there is an optical drive located on the right hand side, which I am sure you could change into a Blu-Ray player if you wanted too. If you want to connect another monitor for a multi-monitor setup the AG2712 comes equipped with dual HDMI ports and a single VGA port.
The big thing here is the ability to be able to play games on a system that is entirely self-contained, following in the footsteps of its predecessor AIO’s that although functional, were not geared for gaming. Depending on the clarity of the screen will be a big factor on how well the AG2712 is embraced by the public as that is a very important aspect on an AIO in any case. So far though it seems that MSI has not released a set price or release date, but we can only hope that the price is within reason and not so bloated as to make it unaffordable to all but the rich. What do you think about this new product from MSI, is it something you would be interested in and if so what type of configuration would you choose? I think that if it has clean looks and can play games at 1920X1080 with decent framerates that it could be a viable and sellable product.
