Samsung One-Ups Apple & Google with Highest Resolution Laptop Display Yet

Just a few short months ago, we reviewed Google’s Chromebook Pixel which at the time was the highest pixel dense laptop display on the market at 239 pixels per inch.

That bested Apple’s 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro which sized in an impressive 227 pixels per inch, but Samsung outdid both products this morning.

This week, Samsung is launching a 13.3 inch QHD panel with a jaw-dropping 3200 x 1800 resolution display, which totals in at a ridiculous 276 pixels per inch.

The only bad news from this announcement is that there were no immediate plans or products that are set to feature this display but with Apple gearing up to update it’s MacBook lineup and Toshiba recently announcing it’s high resolution Kirabook, hopefully that means we’ll see something sooner than later.

This is definitely gearing up to be an exciting year for technology and personally cannot wait until ultra high-resolution laptops become the standard, because once you get the privilege of using one, it’s hard to go back to those standard resolution displays and it’ll be nice when more consumers get a chance to experience them. For now, we’ll leave you with how I assume we all feel below.

They need to worry about getting that kind of resolution into 27-30 inch displays. Who cares about that kind of resolution in an ultrabook?

My 15″ MacBook Pro’s Retina is awesome, but I’d rather have a 4K monitor connected to a PC. This stupid thing gets super hot just watching YouTube videos at 1080 and playing Zynga Texas Hold’em.
