This past monday SteelSeries announced its newest addition to its line of wireless headsets, the SteelSeries H Wireless Headset. This all black and glossy wireless headset is multi platform, designed to work for PC, PS3/4, Xbox 360, Mac, and home streaming devices such as Roku.

SteelSeries’ CEO Bruce Hawver said regarding it’s announcement “We have always prided ourselves on delivering exceptional audio for gaming. The H Wireless headset does that and takes it to the next level, bringing a world-class audio experience to every aspect of our users’ gaming and entertainment lives.”The headset will utilize three different pieces of Dolby based Technology: Dolby Digital which reproduces Multichannel Audio, Dolby Headphone which simulates a 7.1 surround experience in headsets, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx which optimizes that surround sound experience.

Additional features include the ability to directly control the balance between game audio and chat volume, including the ability to customize how much it changes while chat audio is being output. It also employs a frequency hopping system, meaning that the headset is constantly making sure that it’s using the optimal frequency for minimal interference during use. Thanks to a pair of 20 hour lithium batteries which take turns charging, the headset’s battery life is “virtually unlimited” according to SteelSeries. It will also be fitted with numerous different hook up options including USB(mini), Optical in and out, Analog in, and Chat out. The H Wireless Headset will begin shipping this month at a current MSRP of $299, for further details check out SteelSeries’ website here.
