It looks like we may seen Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S5 announced this month. Normally February would seem early for such an announcement but Samsung just sent out confirmation of their Unpacked 5 event which is taking place Monday, February 2014 in Barcelona, Spain.
Nothing aside from the date has been confirmed but the “5″ in the event’s name looks to be an obvious hint and what to expect in Barcelona.
Rumors have it that the Galaxy S5 will to feature an ultra-high resolution 2.5K AMOLED display (2,560 x 1,440) a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor (or an octa-core 2.0 GHz Exynos processor depending on location), 3GB of RAM and either 32GB, 64GB of storage. There is also talk of a 128GB model but I wouldn’t quite hold my breath on that just yet.
The big thing I think we’re all waiting and hoping for Samsung to finally ditch the plastic design that we’ve come to expect on previous Galaxy phones, so hopefully the rumors are right and Samsung opts to go for a metal chassis and puts that plastic to rest. For now we’ll have to wait and see what Samsung has in store for us but luckily the wait isn’t too long. Let us know your thoughts, what you want to see and if you’re excited for the Galaxy S5.
