Capcom Announces Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition for PC

Today Capcom announced an HD remake of one of it’s most successful games from the PS2/Gamecube era, “Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition”.

The game is meant to be noticeably sharper and better looking than it’s original (first released in 05 for Gamecube, 2007 for PC)  and run at a 60 FPS on modern machines. It’s set to include all of the content added to the game over it’s numerous rereleases seen on PS2, Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and iOS Releases such as the side story “separate ways”.

The game has already gone up for preorder on Steam for the listed price of $19.99 and is due out for release February 27th. While the game does not feature the usual Steam discount for pre-order, those that do will receive some bonus digital content including an 80 page artbook and over 60 track Soundtrack. Steam currently has the listed minimum and recommeneded specs as:

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows XP/ Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8

  • Processor: Intel CoreTM2 Duo 2.4 Ghz or better, AMD AthlonTM X2 2.8 Ghz or better

  • Memory: 2 GB RAM / Hard Disk Space: 15GB free hard drive space

  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS or better, ATI RadeonTM HD 4850 or better

  • DirectX: 9.0c or above / Sound: Standard audio device

Recommended System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8

  • Processor: Intel CoreTM 2 Quad 2.7 Ghz or better, AMD PhenomTM II X4 3 Ghz or better

  • Memory: 4 GB RAM / Hard Disk Space: 15GB free hard drive space

  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or better

    i hope the game to look as good as the specs they are asking for, daaaamn a 560 for recommended GPU? That is some serious graphic power for a ´05 game.
