Klipsch Audio, manufacturer of loudspeakers and headphones, has announced today that they’ll be entering the competitive field of Gaming Headsets with their KG-200 and KG-300 Wireless designs.

“For years the focus has been on the evolution of gaming graphics, but developers and studios are now emphasizing a quality audio experience. With decades of industry-leading audio developments, our new headsets will be the quintessential audio accessory that best brings the gaming experience to life” said Chris Aiello, the headphone product manager for Klipsch.

The KG-200 and KG-300 are for the most part identical; both headsets are designed for use with PC, PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360, and employ 40mm drivers with 4 different EQ settings for gamers to use: Fidelity, Combat, Stealth, and Sport. EQ controls as well as chat volume, game volume, and mic monitor are place on the right earcup for easy access.

Both headsets also offer “athletic” mesh covers which are claimed to offer a great combination of durability, comfortability, and sound insulation, as well as a detachable flex mic. The main difference between the two is that the KG-300 is the wirless alternative powered by three AAA batteries. Klipsch has announced that these headsets will be available in February of this year on Klipsh.com and through affiliated retailers, with the KG-200 coming in at an MSRP of $129.99 and the KG-300 at $199.99. In a market currently dominated by peripheral companies, it’ll be interesting to see what an audio focused company like Klipsch has to offer.

They look really uncomfortable. I hate headsets that bend into each other, so much pressure.
