Valve is continuing to move forward with it’s development of the Steam OS for it’s much anticipated Steam Machines, due to be out some time later this year.
While we’re still waiting on a number of features talked about in the past such as in home streaming, and still going through numerous performance and stability tweaks, Steam OS installer has now received a new ISO version with a windows installer and the ability to dual-boot.
It’s worth noting that the dual-boot option has not undergone extensive testing just yet, and it’s been warned that if you do try it out, do it on a system you’re willing to lose. Updates and News for Steam OS and Steam Machines have been keeping a steady yet slow pacing, with other recent additions including driver support for AMD and Intel GPUs. Hopefully in the next couple big updates we’ll see the OS really start shaping up to a final product, and get a better idea of how soon we can get our hands on a fully functional Steam Machine.
