After a successful Beta test, eager gamers have less than two weeks to wait now for the release of one of the most anticipated games this year: Titanfall. It should come as no surprised then that a game so hotly anticipated is also going to be one of the largest games space consumption wise as well, with the games install file weighing 21GB and the full application taking up a whopping 48GB.

As noted by The Tech Report, this is the largest game in PC history to date, beating out other recent titles like Battlefield 4.

This much data means that theres hopefully going to be a lot of good high res textures, leading to a more visually intense experience than what we saw during Beta. On the other hand though, 21GB is a lot of information to download, so those of you with little space left might want to start making room, and those of you suffering from a terrible internet connection…my best wishes. Titanfall is set to come out on Mar 11th, after which we’ll bring you guys our full review as soon as we’re able to download this monstrosity of a game. Get those hard drives ready!

    X-Plane 10 is bigger… (55GB)

    • Elijah Daugherty

      No physx/mantle, worthless.

21GB game install file + 48GB game data, around 70GB…. Those guys who has a 120/128GB SSDs might need to uninstall some stuff first before installing this game….

    • marclar

No… install is 21GB and it after installed will take up to 48 GBs… That’s what he means. not 21 + 48… Tho 48gb is insanely awesome! I hope it contains mega high textures… Those in beta weren’t so “insane”.

    Definitely passing on this game.

With BF4, CS:GO, and the other 70+ games I have on Steam, I have no need to drop $60 on a CoD redo.

    • marclar

Well i’ve tried it and it feels more then a COD…It’s greater. I’m not a fan of COD but this game is way better then COD. Yes handling feels like COD but it ain’t COD. :) Tho BF4 still takes the cake even tho it’s still deep in shit of bugs and glitches. Once they fix all of that i’ma purchase BF4. Until then i’m watching it closely… huehuehue

      • Dav3

        Titanfall = BF3 > BF4 IMO

        • Moinaldo

That’s because you like COD like games i.e. arcade shooter. BF3 may have been a huge selling hit. But me along with many friends who played the older BF titles think that BF3 is the worst of the franchise… “too codish”… and now BF4 came back to a more tactical-simulator-arcade shooter.

          • Dav3

How is bf4 more tactical/simulator? They brought back commander mode and that’s about it.

          • Moinaldo

Recoil, bullet drop on weapons and tanks, better damage track (you can no longer enter rambo mode), much more structure destruction. I did never say it was a simulator like ARMA, that is why I say “more” than BF3 and you can not deny that.

          • Filip Zanichelli

            Partially True.
BF4 is better, not because it is “more” realistic, it is not realistic. But it is better because it is more Battlefield than Battlefield 3.

Since this is made by the original 2 lead designers of CoD 4; which started the whole CoD outbreak. And i very much hate the CoD series but, CoD 4 was probably “the best” overall in terms of skill and game-play. Also they are the ones who originally made the Medal of Honor franchise as well.

They took something that they “West and Zampella” were good with and ran with it. Introducing wall running from say Mirrors Edge , A great engine as the back bone and finally adding what would be a Tank from BF4. Which would be the Titan or Titans in a small to medium arena map.

Your constantly watching out for the other team’s titans to see where they spawned them, time they spawned them, and what type of titan they spawned. All of those can mean a lot of things to either help you win or lose the game. And titans are not OP by any means. The location they drop a titan by’ could also be near a 3 story building that “you” the pilot are running across. In which you would jump off, mount on top of his titan, and do some amazing damage to their titan. Gaining more xp and points for your team.

The game is very fast paced with tons of action happening at every moment and corner. It is by all means not a game to be “Camping” in. AI constantly being put into the game to give some sort of disturbance the players to throw them off, Titans running around either in AI mode or by players. They can be spawned instantly from the start of the game if you “Burn cards” Which also creates more skill and how you fight with cards at your disposal. Add pure player skill as a pilot, it gets pretty damn good as a Skillful game that will keep you at the edge of your seat playing for matches/hours on end.

They are of course trying to bring it to E-Sports and I can see this happening.

please do not put the game down if you haven’t tried it. I was in the closed beta, and it was completely awesome. I was already hooked. It is really on it’s own. It is not CoD nor is it BF4. That is what i like about it the most. Neither of the two. It is not being constricted by EA nor on a leash by EA. EA has really nothing to do with this game except they help give West and Zampella a studio, gave them a great engine to work with and, finally the support and chance to do something great in the gaming industry due to their previous work.

      • Shinjiluis

totally agreed with you my friend, saddly I couldnt play the beta, but the main feature for me its the pace of combat, and the agile titans, they look and move insanely fast!!!! Cant wait to put my hands on it!!!

  • PikkuMake

Well, 100mbit/s up and down, plenty of disk space, no money..bring it on

  • ali mehanna

elder scroll online is 80gb i didnt even bother to download although i got accepted to beta!

  • Darko Derek Bakula

It is rumored for the game to have additional 15 more maps besides the two we played in the beta. And also don’t forget and about the two other models of the titan (ogre and stryder) which am betting will take up most of the space. They ‘ve breathed new life into Source Engine and made it better in every way. The graphics aren’t spectacular but for an engine as old as Source… these are damn good graphics.

    • Shinjiluis

couldn`t agree more with you, and in the end, everything come down to how much fun its the game, how fluid its the gameplay, you can have espectacular graphics, but if the gameplay its not that funny to play…

  • Corey Williams

    Max Payne was over 30GB

  • Samurninsai

Wow 40+GBs. Im glad I have 2TB HDD then. SSDs are nice, but look at those numbers. If they keep this up, and SSDs drop ALOT in price, maybe we’ll see a classic cartridge games again, only with PCs and SSDs. Would be expensive.
