We all love having powerful desktop setups for gaming, but the portability factor isn’t always what we’d like it to be. Not necessarily that we want to use them while walking around, but carrying and transporting alone can just be bothersome at times.

A company on Indiegogo is currently launching their project to release the tango, a tiny ½”x5”x4” portable pc that can fit in most people’s pockets or bags for the price of $349.

Inside it has an AMD A6-5200 2GHz quad-core processor, a 32GB SSD, 4GB of RAM, and a trial version of Windows 7, meaning to upgrade to full on 64-bit windows 7 is gonna bump the price up to about $449. There are some upgradeable options planned as well for it for those wanting a bit more power, including a $49 charge to increase the memory to 8GB, and $79 to up the SSD to 128GB.

In every Tango box there’s also a docking station which acts as the main power hook up and usb hub for this tiny PC, including 3 usb 2.0 ports, 1 usb 3.0 port, HDMI, Ethernet, Wifi, Audiojack, and a heatsink. The Docking station will be available for sale separately for $89, so you can get one or two more to set up at different areas you plan to use the Tango often in.

The project is still open for funding, 20 days from when I’m writing this, and has already completely smashed it’s goal of 100k with a current funding of 279,290. One particularly crazy benefit being offered right now to backers is that IF the Tango sells 50,000 units, then every single backer will receive one for free. Units are expected to begin shipping out this April.

This being marketed as a gaming computer is a joke and a scam.

      Well, it´s better than Androids.
I´ve seen Android consoles with lower specs for a lower price yet unable to fit the gap in the performance/price ratio we´re at now with this device.
It could be cheaper yet it´s not that expensive for a pocket gaming device PC.

i know right i almost thought it was cool till i saw an ipad my pc is still cheaper and faster.. joke on them for passing off i crappy counsel

its integrated graphics should be able to handle black ops 2 at like 60 fps, its not great but thats definitely not shit. I think you have too much high standards when it comes to a fricking POCKET SIZED COMPUTER…

Lol calm down, I do have high standards when it comes to something being marketed as a gaming computer. As a pocket computer sure it’s cool but don’t market it as a gaming computer to get more money from unsuspecting buyers.

Do you have a problem with Alienwares being sold as “gaming” platforms when for $600 you can get much better performance for gaming than an outdated i5 and a GT 645?

  • Bigaltech

Used it at CES, it barely runs MW1 at low settings…

    • Nicholas Morici

it couldnt handle COD4 at 1024×768?

  • SilentCid

If anything this could almost pass for steam in-home streaming usage.

The only thing ill get use out of this ill convert it to a router thats about it. Don’t know why computers are starting to get smaller when there’s no point. Kids staring at cell phones during classes is bad enough as it is. Only thing i can think of is good probably for editing on the go maybe??

While i was drinking my coffee using my nvidia gtx video card as a coffee holder i thought of something. Perhaps this will go to install Mame games inside arcade cabinets? Perhaps PS1 Ps2 emulators and so on

If it had more storage, that would definitely be feasible. You could store the ROMs on an external HDD, but at that point you would probably be better off getting some version of the Intel NUC with an internal HDD.

It has 3usb 2.0 ports, get a 1 to 4 usb hub and 4 64 gb flash drives, and you can open it yo change the hard drive
