WHITE LIGHTNING - Custom $5,000 Gaming PC Build!

January 15, 2016 by Sun Squared Media

Many if us wish we could get our hands on some of those awesome and amazing systems we see being built by well know Modder’s, but what of you could actually buy one for yourself directly from a manufacturer? IF this sounds to good to be true trust me its not and indeed Maingear has taken the entire system building scenario to a whole other level as seen by the system they built for Tech Of Tomorrow. This system looks just like something award winning Modder’s and builders churn out, not something by a company that actually can produce one every 3 days.

Starting out with a custom painted Corsair 900D for the case you can see the attention to detail as the paint job is immaculate. The Maingear logo glowing with green on the front and standard green on the back panel just looks cool adds a bit of flair to the overall color theme of the system. Inside the case everything glows green with the color theme permeating inside and out.  The motherboard is an ASUS Z710 Deluxe, this is a board that offers the users a lot of features and overclocking abilities that make it a coveted board for the enthusiast and with the 32GBs of Kingston Predator memory it can crunch any task or game.

For storage the White Lighting features the latest 1.2GB PCIe SSD from the Intel 750 serial line and is thee fastest consumer available SSD you can get your hands on and pair that with dual Seagate 7200RPM Hard Drives you have ample space for all your programs, media and games. So far so good right? Well for the VGA configuration Maingear threw in a matched set of NVIAIA’s GeForce GTX 980 Ti Card in SLI so you know any game from 1080p, to 4K will be able to be played. Another positive thins is with the custom liquid cooling there is plenty of room for overclocking. The cooling blocks are all from EK and they do an excellent job on their components.

There are a total of 80 parts that make up the cooling system and all the tubes are made of high-end materials that will last a very long time.  In fact all the elbows and other connecting parts have all bee custom made for Maingear as no one had exactly what was needed for retail sale. There are dual radiators both decked out in high-pressure fans that not only move a lot of air they also run very quiet as well.  You can see in the video just how amazing this system looks in a low light room and how everything inside just pops with eye candy.  There is a very large reservoir that allows for a lot of liquid in the open-end loop that also will equate to not having to top off the system with more liquid for a long time to come.

Even the cables all have been custom done and match the system build perfectly as well as being completely out of the way and routed in the best way possible to allow maximum air-flow throughout the system.  I honestly cannot stress the amount of detail that went into this build as the systems just oozes quality and craftsmanship. The way the cooling system is designed is very well thought out and executed with the CPU and VGA cards being cooled by a split in the loop allowing time for the liquid to cool off in the top radiator from the CPU and to travel through the loop and reservoir before it reaches the VGA cards. Obviously a system of this caliber needs a PSU that can handle this and more so once again we see Corsair being implemented and the AX 1200 I powers the White Lighting with plenty of room for expansion and power headroom.

I have to say that my first looks and impressions are on serious high-note as this is thee absolute best built system by a manufacture that I have yet to have the privilege of playing with. Maingear has closed the gap between customers and enthusiast level Modder systems, systems that were previously only available by custom guys or DIU, which takes skills and abilities to make. If you want to check out a video showing you crispy 4K footage head on over to my YouTube channel and check out the White Lighting in all its glory. I think you will agree it’s a visual feast that is decked out in the latest hardware and ready to rock and roll your desktop.
